Many contest that Rome was born before gods. Now this may be an exaggeration but it is certainly a pre-historic city. It is proverbially a city of Seven Hills. Roman coliseums are one of the favorite course materials of history books. Rome has not taken the march of time lightly though; this is why it has created a lot of places rooted in modern travel adventure.
Rome is full of churches. Artistic magnificence can be felt quite clearly in these places. Michelangelo’s Sistine chapel is a work of art. St. Peter’s museum took almost 200 years to get completed but what has come out is a sheer delight for holiday seekers. Paintings by Raphael and Michelangelo dot the scene.
Vatican city houses the Pope and it’s the smallest independent country in the world. Trip-makers are also advised not to miss the Trevi Fountain. It was built 19 years before Anno Domini started.
